Arkansas breweries are producing unique, high quality beers that would make any beer enthusiast happy. Some breweries, like Diamond Bear Brewing Company, focus on making unique brews using traditional European methods with local water and only a few natural ingredients. Superior Bathhouse uses local mineral water for their beers. Most microbreweries quickly became local watering holes and gathering places, offering not only their latest brews but also great food and events such as live music.

Superior Bathhouse Brewery


Superior Bathhouse Brewery in downtown Hot Springs is the first American brewery located in a national park and the first brewery in the world to use thermal spring water as the main ingredient for making beer.

They turn the 144-degree water into a range of styles of beer, from light to dark and from mild to strong. The brewery, the tap room, the restaurant, and event space that are all part of the brew house are located in the historic Superior Bathhouse, which has been beautifully renovated and given second life after siting vacant for over 30 years.

Fossil Cove Brewing Co.


Fossil Cove Brewing Co. is a craft brewery located in Fayetteville, Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains. They focus on Belgian and American-style ales. They have a popular taproom in downtown Fayetteville with 12 rotating taps, a nice atmosphere, and a lot of original local art on the walls.

They also offer wine and cider to guests who are not into craft beers. There is a nice, spacious outdoor patio where dogs are allowed. Also on the patio is the unique shipping container restaurant, The Container Kitchen, which provides food to hungry beer drinkers.

Bentonville Brewing Company


Bentonville Brewing Company was established in 2015 just off the historic square in downtown Bentonville, close to the popular bike path and a short walk from the town’s best restaurants. The popular microbrewery is temporarily located in nearby Rogers. While many of their beers are available in most area’s bars and restaurants, their core and seasonal specialties are available for tasting in their tap room at the brewery. Beer lovers will appreciate the large range of styles, from kolsch to porter. The tours of the brewing facility are offered per request. The samples of the latest brews are included in the tours.

Bike Rack Brewing Co.


Established in 2014 by four friends and beer enthusiasts with six barrels a month, Bike Rack Brewing Co. quickly grew to 60 barrels a month and is still growing. Bike Rack Brewing Co. has two locations today, with the original right on the bike trail in the heart of the Bentonville’s Arts District. It operates out of a building known as “The Hub,” which is also home to two other bike-related businesses – Bike Bentonville and The Pedaler’s Pub. The second location was opened in 2017 in the 8th Street Market, a local food hub. Bike Rack focuses on four core offerings when it comes to the style of their beers: Fast IPA, The Urban Trail Golden Ale, Slaughter Pen Pale Ale, and Angus Chute American Stout.

Columbus House Brewery and Tap Room


Located in Fayetteville, AR, Columbus House Brewery and Tap Room is located just off the bike trail and is open seven days a week. It is a small operation with only four people doing everything – it is currently a three-barrel brew house run and owned by two graduates from the University of Arkansas. They have been brewing their beers since 2015 with a goal of providing Fayetteville with quality micro brews that folks can taste in their friendly tap room.

The taproom is attached to the brewing facility, and tours are available upon request. Most of their beers are available only on site, while some can be found in about ten local bars and restaurants. They are not bottling or canning their beers yet, nor are they making food for their guests, but there is a friendly food truck nearby most of the time. They also have a nice outdoor space where you can bring your dog.

Diamond Bear Brewing Co.


Diamond Bear Brewing Co. is Arkansas’ first and oldest production brewery. Located in Little Rock and established in 2000, Diamond Bear produces their craft beers in the old time-honored European traditional methods following the German Purity Law of 1516. This means that they use only four ingredients: water, hops, yeast, and barley. The use of Arkansan water means that their beers are fresh and naturally flavorful. Since its founding, Diamond Bear Brewing Co. has won a number of awards, including Gold Medals at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup. They have recently moved to a bigger facility in downtown North Little Rock, which combines a production space, tap room, and a popular restaurant Arkansas Alehouse.

Flyway Brewing


Located in the heart of North Little Rock in the Argenta Arts District, Flyway Brewing is a ten barrel microbrewery on the banks of the Arkansas River. The spacious tasting room is surrounded by art galleries, shopping, and entertainment, and it features twelve beers on tap, a food menu full of everyone’s favorite pub grub and twice-weekly entertainment such as trivia nights. The brewing facility is attached to the tap room separated by a glass wall so that the guests can watch the beer being made while they are sampling it. There are free tours for beer enthusiasts every Saturday. The tap room is enormous but it gets packed quickly on the entertainment and events nights.

Fort Smith Brewing Company


Located in the Chaffee Crossing area in Fort Smith, Fort Smith Brewing Company is close to the Fort Chaffee Maneuver Training Center, a Western Arkansas Army National Guard installation. Established in 2014 in an old disused army barrack, Fort Smith Brewing Company is a small operation that brews four kinds of beers in-house and has a nice, spacious tasting room with high ceiling, a lounge area, tables, the bar, and a foosball table. They also serve other craft beers from the region. There is a food truck in front that guests can call on their cell phones.

Gravity BrewWorks


Gravity BrewWorks is a small North Central Arkansas nanobrewery in Big Flat producing small batches of hand-made beer. The brewery was established in 2013 and has a tap room attached to the production facility. The taproom is small and homey, and visitors are invited to sample their brews and take their favorite growlers or grumblers to go. The brewery does not make food, but guests are allowed to bring their own, and there is a food truck parked in front most days. There is also a nice beer garden for those warm days. The tap room is open from Thursday to Saturday.

Lost Forty Brewing


Lost Forty Brewing is a microbrewery located in downtown Little Rock. Established in 2014, the brewery quickly gained a large number of followers and won a number of awards for the unique flavor and quality of their beers. They have a nice spacious taproom attached to their production facility with large communal tables perfect for sharing. They smoke their own meats, which go perfectly with their beers, so expect to wait in line to get a seat. It is a popular family spot for lunches, dinners, and Sunday brunches. The brew house taproom is open seven days a week, and there are always 12- 16 beers on tap. Their new beers are released every Monday at 4 pm.

New Province Brewing Company


When Benton County in Northwest Arkansas finally lifted prohibition in 2012 after 80 years, New Province Brewing Company quickly stepped up to offer local beer aficionados high quality craft beer and opened their brewery in 2014. Located in downtown Rogers, they take their job seriously, believing that making a good beer is a bit art and a bit science.

Today they have five beers on tap – American Pale Ale, an IPA and a Belgian Witbier are standards, and you can always expect some surprises. All their beers are well balanced and true to style and it is no wonder that the taproom quickly became a popular gathering place. Not only is the beer great but the location is also excellent with a fun and relaxed atmosphere. There is a cozy bar area, tall and low tables, a pool table and board games, and a taqueria across the street that delivers delicious gorditas.

Ozark Beer Company is a small brewery located in downtown Rogers, Arkansas. Open since 2013, the brewery has a goal of making beer that has great quality and character, handcrafted for the people of the Ozarks and Arkansas. They make five types of beers, available in their tap room: Onyx Coffee Stout, Cream Stout, Belgian Style Golden Strong, India Pale Ale, and American Pale Ale. The brewery occupies an old building with a lot of character. The taproom is separate from the production space only by a low railing, so you can watch your beer being made. Large communal picnic tables encourage socializing and sharing. They do not make food, but there is a BBQ food truck right outside the brewery.

Prestonrose Farm And Brewing Co


There are some breweries that are just more fun to visit than others. Prestonrose Farm And Brewing Co is a certified organic farm near Paris, Arkansas that opened in 2013. They grow hops, vegetables, and fruits and make fantastic small batches of craft beer in a lovely 75-year old barn. The beautiful pastoral setting is a great place to visit with the family, pick up some fresh produce, and then sit in their charming taproom or outside in the beer garden and enjoy their delightful beers. The head brewer is Liz, and she also makes delicious food they offer with the beer. Her husband is the official greeter and beer-server. Check the large blackboard for the daily choice of beers.

Stone's Throw Brewing


Four friends and beer enthusiasts have converted a dusty rundown building in Little Rock's MacArthur Park Historic District into a popular and highly successful neighborhood nanobrewery. The brewery is just a stone’s throw from the greenery of MacArthur Park, the bustling River Market entertainment district, and the Arkansas Arts Center, and it offers a nice watering hole and eatery for the locals and visitors. They offer fourteen Stone's Throw Brewing beers and ciders and serve a full menu of delicious foods from the AphroSense Kitchen and snacks from Izard Chocolate, Loblolly Creamery, Geek Eats Hummus, and Wicked Mixes. There is a range of board and card games for guests and two big screens for watching ongoing games.
