For a true boating town feel, Egg Harbor is located right on Green Bay and offers that small harbor town feel. Egg Harbor may seem small at only 6.62 square miles, but its culture and artisanal foods make this town a welcoming vacation spot. Wineries, animal farms, bars, restaurants, galleries, and parks all create a thriving town full of welcoming people. Populations are small – around 200 people – but they make you feel like your part of the town when you’re visiting.

Egg Harbor Marina

In 2010, Egg Harbor Marina was renovated to provide 63 floating piers for docking boats. Though the slips fit boats up to 50 feet in length, no matter the size of your vessel, you’ll enjoy cruising on Green Bay. The harbor includes a gas station for filling your boats, whether it takes diesel or regular gas. Since you may choose to stay on your boat during your vacation, you’ll find many amenities at Egg Harbor Marina to make your stay more comfortable, including bathrooms, playgrounds, and laundry facilities. Right off of the harbor slips is a public beach for land days, and shops and restaurants are only a short walk away.

Stone’s Throw Winery

Recently named Wisconsin’s best wine bar by Lux Life Magazine, Stone’s Throw Winery is the winner of six medals in international competitions. While over 2,500 miles from Napa Valley, CA, Stone’s Throw Winery uses California grapes that have been grown in ideal conditions. They are then shipped to Door County in a refrigerated truck and immediately pressed for freshness. Small batches keep the wine unique and perfected. When visiting the winery, you’ll be able to sit outside, play bocce ball, and join in a tasting. Two specific tastings are available: the signature series tasting, where you choose five wines, or the winemaker select series tasting, where you choose six wines.

Off the Wheel Pottery

For those wanting to do some shopping, there are many stores and galleries around Egg Harbor. Off the Wheel Pottery is a gallery held within two older buildings: a barn and a granary. A third building, newly built, houses the studio, where guests, like resident artist Renee Schwaller, create their pottery. Guests can come to see the local artists’ work, which has been handmade. Not all artists are local, some are from as far away as Florida, but the ceramics are all beautifully made and presented for patrons to check out. The gallery is only open to visitors from May through October.

Woodwalk Gallery

Over 70 artists’ works are on display at Woodwalk Gallery. This gallery is much more than just a beautiful building and garden to walk through admiring the sculptures, metalwork, furniture, and more. Woodwalk Gallery brings together all art forms, like Friday Night Concert nights and the Midsummer Music Festival. When visiting Woodwalk Gallery, you’ll find so many beautiful art pieces that can be purchased only at the gallery. Rustic artwork and furniture that uses reclaimed wood are typically made to order, but visitors can check out pieces that are already built. New to Woodwalk is a layaway option, so you can purchase the art you want no matter the cost.

Shipwrecked Brew Pub

In 1882, the building that now houses Shipwrecked Brew Pub was built. In 2017, a fire destroyed the old building, but when it was rebuilt in 2018, the customer was kept in mind. Rather than old rooms for an inn upstairs, the second story is a dining room featuring water views. With a history that harkens to Al Capone, there are also rumors of ghosts who gently haunt the halls of the restaurant, believed to be victims of Capone’s. Shipwrecked is a brewery that creates microbrews, and a local favorite is the fried cheese curds served with garlic chili ketchup.

The menu shifts as the seasons do, so you’re always going to find a great meal with seasonal favorites no matter when you visit. For instance, check out the Bluepoint Oysters Rockefeller or the pistachio and panko encrusted whitefish. In 1983, the original owners of Chocolate Chicken decided that they wanted to share their love of fudge with the locals and visitors to Door County. Today, guests can stop in the shop to pick up some coffee, shipped in from all around the world, including South India, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Indonesia. Though the coffee is great, it’s the chocolate that shines in this store. Combining chocolate and cherries is one of the great innovations at Chocolate Chicken since cherries are a local crop. On top of chocolates, caramels, cherry sauce, and coffee, be sure to check out the mugs and shirts that bare the Chocolate Chicken crowned chicken logo.

Harbor Ridge Winery

Established in 2010, Harbor Ridge Winery started off with a small vineyard which produced just 2 wines. Currently, they produce a wide selection of wines, some of which are barrel fermented for up to 2 years. Although Harbor Ridge take their winemaking very seriously, they add an element of fun by choosing catchy names for many of their most popular wines.
