Rice NW Museum of Rocks and Minerals
Located on the northern edge of Hillsboro, the Rice NW Museum of Rocks and Minerals is an earth science museum dedicated to rocks and minerals and other earth-related topics. Opened in 1997, the museum is housed in a 7,500 square foot home built to display its fascinating collection of minerals and rocks, which dates back to the 1930s and is surrounded by 23 acres of beautiful wooded gardens and grounds. The museum’s collection boasts over 20,000 specimens and features a variety of fossils, petrified wood, meteorites, fluorescent minerals, zeolites, and other minerals. The Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals museum is the largest of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.

Rood Bridge Park
Rood Bridge Park is a 59-acre community park that provides a wealth of recreation and outdoor activities for locals and visitors alike. The park features several soft-surface pathways winding through lovely wooded areas and wetlands around the Tualatin River wetlands, along with plenty of shaded picnic areas with tables and benches, and large lawns for playing and relaxing on. Oregon International Air Show
The Oregon International Air Show is an annual three-day event held at the Hillsboro Airport in Hillsboro in September that draws over 65,000 people. The show is the largest civilian air show on the West Coast of the United States and features everything aeronautic from actual planes to equipment, engines, and more. The event showcases ultralight powered paragliders, engine monitoring equipment, avionics Plug-n-Play instrument panels, propellers, certified home-built aircraft supplies, and more, as well as a wealth of experts in the field of aviation who are on hand to share their expertise and knowledge. Displays at the air show include aerobatic demonstrations and static displays on the ground, featuring a range of aircraft.

Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve
The Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve is a 635-acre wildlife preserve situated within the city limits of Hillsboro that offers fantastic outdoor opportunities such as hiking, bird and wildlife watching. The preserve is home to over 150 species of birds, including herons and bald eagles, and it attracts a plethora of waterfowl in the fall and winter, such as northern pintail ducks, and cackling geese. The preserve is also home to several hiking trails that begin in the parking lot and wind through the wetlands, with a seasonal trailhead at the north viewing area. Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve has a Nature Center that offers educational programs and workshops for visitors of all ages.

Ron Tonkin Field
Located in the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex, the Ron Tonkin Field, formerly known as the Hillsboro Ballpark, is a baseball park in Hillsboro that is home to the Hillsboro Hops of the Class A short season Northwest League. The 4,500-seat stadium hosts the only professional baseball team in the Portland metropolitan area and, when not used by the baseball team is used for other sports such as lacrosse and soccer. The Ron Tonkin Field has a 14-row deep covered grandstand, standing room, and a beer garden, the Bridgeport Brew Pen, which is located at the end of the first baseline.

Smith Berry Barn
Smith Berry Barn is a 30-acre family-owned working farm that grows over 20 varieties of berries, ranging from blueberries, blackberries, boysenberries, and loganberries to Marionberries, tayberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The farm also has a five-acre apple orchard that produces over 20 varieties of antique and modern apples, as well as lots of specialty products such as gourmet squash and pumpkins, salads, fresh herbs, heirloom tomatoes, and peppers. The farm has an on-site nursery that sells a selection of fruit trees, berry plants and organic vegetable starts, two seed labels, and custom-designed hanging flower baskets, as well as organic garden care products. Other facilities include a gourmet gift shop that sells raw honey, preserves, and customized gift baskets, and an espresso bar that serves freshly brewed coffee and milkshakes.

Orenco Woods Nature Park
Orenco Woods Nature Park is a recreational park in the Orenco neighborhood that spans 42 acres and is bordered by the tracks for the MAX Blue Line at the north and Cornelius Pass Road in the east. Formerly the nine-hole Orenco Woods Golf Course, the park is bisected by Rock Creek and features a variety of amenities, including a nature-themed play area, a picnic shelter, two bridges, and modern restrooms. The historic Malcolm McDonald House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is also based in the park.

Oak Knoll Winery
Oak Knoll Winery is a privately owned and operated winery in the Tualatin Valley that produces a variety of award-winning small-batch wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris. Established in 1970 and the largest winery in Washington County, Oak Knoll Winery is based on the grounds of a dairy farm and features several historic 1900s structures such as brick grain silos and an old milking parlor. While Pinot Noir is the main focus of the estate, it also produces a native-American varietal, Niagara, a sweet, Spatlese-styled Riesling, and two exceptional dessert wines. Visitors can sample some of the estate’s finest wines and enjoy guided cellar tours.

Bald Peak State Park
Located atop Bald Peak in Yamhill County, the eponymous Bald Peak State Park is a day-use park that features several hiking trails, picnic tables and benches, and spectacular views of several volcanic peaks, including Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and even Mt. Rainier, the Willamette Valley and the Cascade Range from the Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint. The 26-acre state park features a lovely grassy hillside for picnics with the family, and a Douglas Fir wood to explore, as well as hiking trails, modern restrooms, and ample parking.

53rd Ave Community Park
53rd Ave Community Park is a 14-acre municipal park located along 53rd Avenue in the center of the city that offers a variety of recreational amenities and facilities. The park offers a diverse range of outdoor areas for play and recreational activities such as 178,000 square feet of artificial turf multi-sport fields, a basketball court, tennis courts, a plaza area with water play fountain, a children's play area, concessions, and restrooms. There are also two lighted lacrosse and soccer fields that can also accommodate a wide variety of other sports, and a spray ground with geysers, spray elements and a curved seating wall that is hugely popular in the summer.

Hillsboro Public Library
The Hillsboro Public Library is a public library with two locations in Hillsboro in Shute Park and the Brookwood Library in the city center. Opened in 1975, the Shute Park Library is the oldest of the two libraries in the system and is based in a triangular-shaped building with 15,000 square feet of space that houses over 57,000 literary items, ranging from books and audio materials to periodicals and videos. The Brookwood Library is housed in a two-story building encompassing 76,000 square feet and boasts a collection of more than 300,000 items. The library hosts story readings in a variety of languages, including Bengali, Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin, and an art gallery featuring local artists is housed on the second floor.

Shute Park Aquatic and Recreation Center
The Shute Park Aquatic and Recreation Center (SHARC) is a multi-pool indoor and outdoor facility with a 25m main swimming pool and a smaller wading pool, a deluxe spa, and a weight room. Opened in 1954 as an outdoor facility at Shute Park, which later include an indoor swimming pool and recreation center, the Center has a variety of water-based and indoor features, including the original outdoor 50 yard swimming pool with two diving boards, an indoor 25 pool and a wading pool for smaller children and beginner swimmers, and a spa pool and dry sauna. Other amenities include locker rooms, childcare, and a snack bar.

Hondo Dog Park
Hondo Dog Park is a dog-friendly city park spanning four acres next to the Hillsboro Stadium in the northeast section of Hillsboro. Opened in 2007, the park was the first dog park in that city and is named after a famous canine member of the Hillsboro Police Department called Hondo, who was sadly killed in action in 1997. A fire hydrant painted like an American flag as a memorial to the police dog is situated in the park, which has three different sections for various size dogs. Other features and amenities in the park include a small hill, double-gated entrances, gravel pathways, park benches, and drinking water stations, many of which are painted with dog themes.

Ruby Vineyard and Winery
Nestled in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Ruby Vineyard and Winery is a family-owned and operated winery in the Chehalem Mountains that produces a range of wines with a focus on Pinot Noir. Established in the heyday of the Oregon Trail, the historic vineyard features a blend of both familial and viticultural old own-rooted vines which are dry-farmed in a narrow band of rare Laurelwood soils using sustainable agricultural practices. Bag&Baggage Productions is a small, professional theatre company that produces four to six indoor and outdoor shows a year. Founded in 2005 by Hillsboro-native Scott Palmer, Bag&Baggage Productions is based in the Venetian Theatre located in a former bank building on East Main Street in downtown Hillsboro known as ‘the Vault.’ The award-winning production company primarily performs classic American and British dramas at the Venetian Theater and at various locations around the city, including the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse, the Kingstad Center, which is now closed, and the fairgrounds. Old Scotch Church (Tualatin Plains Presbyterian Church)
Old Scotch Church (Tualatin Plains Presbyterian Church) is a church and national historic site that is one of the area’s most popular tourist attractions. Also known as the Tualatin Plains Presbyterian Church, the church dates back to 1873 and features an eight-sided steeple that is over 140 years old.
