Jerome State Historic Park is a historic mansion and estate that has been converted into a museum in Jerome.
The mansion was constructed in the year of 1916 by an influential family of mining entrepreneurs in the northeast region of the Black Hills.
This beautiful, historic, and impressive mansion sits high up on a hill overlooking the town of Jerome.
Besides serving as the home for the Douglas family, the mansion also provided hotel accommodations for investors and mining officials during that time.

Jerome Historical Society Mine Museum
Jerome Historical Society Mine Museum is a non-profit museum and gift shop located in downtown Jerome, Arizona. The gift shop and museum were first opened in the beginning of the 1950s. The museum houses items that represent the town of Jerome’s history from past to present. Visitors will see everything from the remains of gambling games in old saloons to vintage miner’s equipment. The mining equipment on display includes hand-forged miners’ candlesticks, carbide lamps, cages, drills, and ore carts. There are also panoramic photos of smelters and miners, hospital equipment, newspapers, tokens, dishes, and milk bottles. The Mine Museum Gift Shop offers a plethora of souvenirs and gifts for visitors to explore and purchase.

Audrey Headframe Park
Audrey Headframe Park is a non-profit museum that features historic mining equipment in the town of Jerome, Arizona. Constructed in 1918, The Audrey headframe and shaft were considered state-of-the-art technology during that time when it came to mining equipment. After a large copper deposit was discovered, the Audrey shaft was built to extract large amounts of high-grade ore, while reducing fire risk and optimizing worker safety. The shaft is comprised of three independent and concrete-lined segments that have horizontal hubs at depths between 800 and 1700 feet. Today visitors can explore this historic mining site and the vintage equipment that was left behind for a little glimpse into Arizona’s copper mining past.

Gold King Mine Museum and Ghost Town
Gold King Mine Museum and Ghost Town is a gearhead’s paradise and museum of all things mechanical, located in the historic town of Jerome, Arizona. The ghost town boasts antiquated buildings and an old disused mine shaft, among other attractions. One of the main draws to this museum of sorts would be the owner and proprietor, Don Robertson. Don’s enthusiasm for mechanics and tinkering are something to be admired for those who visit. Some of the attractions he’s assembled and has lovingly looked after include a turn-of-the-century sawmill, antique mining equipment, a 1901 blacksmith shop, and restored antique cars. The Original Jerome Winery
The Original Jerome Winery was established in 2001 when owner and winemaker, John McLaughlin realized that the Wilcox area of Arizona has the perfect terroir to grown amazing wine grapes. Jerome Artists Cooperative Gallery is a unique art gallery that is manned, maintained, and managed by artist members in the small town of Jerome, Arizona. Raku Gallery
The New York Café ruin in the town of Jerome, Arizona, was purchased in the year of 1981. After the building’s purchase, work slowly began shaping the dated structure into the charming Raku Gallery visitors will find today. Opening its doors to the public for the first time in 1988, the art gallery quickly became one of the town’s premier destinations. Nellie Bly Kaleidoscopes
Nellie Bly Kaleidoscopes is a unique art gallery in the town of Jerome, Arizona that features handcrafted kaleidoscopes from over 90 artists ranging from elaborate to simple. The world’s largest kaleidoscope dealer, the gallery originally got its start in the year of 1988. Also featured at the gallery are blown glass pieces, handmade marbles, and handmade dichroic jewelry. As soon as visitors approach they’re met with a large kaleidoscope planter out front of the gallery. Sliding Jail
In an unprecedented turn of events, the Sliding Jail has gone on the run. This historic jailhouse can be found over 200 feet from its original location, following a rather gradual slide down the side of a mountain in Jerome, Arizona. After incorporating in 1898, the town of Jerome joined the reputation of many other Wild West towns when brawling, boozing, and brothels became the norm. This small town had even briefly garnered the unflattering title of “Wickedest Town in America.” The historic jail is now surrounded by an old iron fence and stabilized by retaining walls, in case it tries to make another escape attempt. Chief Surgeon’s House
Chief Surgeon’s House was constructed in the year of 1917, it was built to serve as the primary residence for the Chief Surgeon in the town of Jerome, Arizona. Listed on the National Historic Registry since the year of 1966, the beautiful white stucco mansion is now a wonderfully charming bed and breakfast. Haunted Hamburger
The Haunted Hamburger is a supposedly haunted restaurant venue located in Jerome, Arizona. As the story goes, frustrated tradesman from a different time haunt the building the restaurant resides in, and it seems they’re particularly fond of hammers. Previous tenants have even attested to weird hammer phenomena; disappearing hammers, hammers showing up in conspicuous places, and many other spooky things.
