Set on a 313-acre property in the western part of the city, the South Florida National Cemetery has been open for burials since 2007, and it was created to serve as the burial place for veterans of the armed forces and their immediate family members. The grounds are always kept well-maintained, and visitors are welcome to come pay their respects, go for a walk, and read the names on the cemetery's Memorial Wall. Ceremonies are held here on Memorial Day and other special occasions, and the gates are open every day between sunrise and sunset.

The John Prince Memorial Park encompasses more than 700 acres on the shore of Lake Osbourne, and it offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. There's a boat launch for anyone who wants to take their canoe or kayak out on the lake, but if you'd rather enjoy the view from the shore, you can relax in one of the picnic pavilions.

An outdoor fitness center and sports courts make it easy to stay in shape, and there's a dog park for your four-legged friends. If you want to spend the night, the park even has a campground with more than 275 sites.

Located opposite the Lake Worth Beach on the shore of the Lake Worth Lagoon, Bryant Park is a great place to relax and get out on the water or enjoy a live music performance. The band shell has seating for 150 people and hosts concerts and other events year-round, and even when nothing's taking place, the park is still popular with people who want to fish off the pier, stroll along the mile-long walking path, and play a round or two of bocce ball. There's also a boat launch that visitors can use for a small daily fee.

Occupying approximately 380 acres in the heart of the Lake Worth community, Lake Osborne is a beautiful freshwater lake that provides a wonderful urban getaway for visitors and locals alike. The John Prince Memorial Park is the lake's principal public recreation area, but there's also a concrete path that runs around the shore, which is popular with walkers, joggers, cyclists, and roller bladers. The lake is also known for its excellent fishing, particularly when it comes to tilapia and largemouth bass, but the best fishing is to be had during the week when there aren't as many boats and jet skis out on the water.

Lake Worth Playhouse


Built in the early 1920s to serve as a movie palace, the Lake Worth Playhouse is the oldest surviving Art Deco building in the city, and it's still an important community space for theater productions and other artistic events.

The shows range from live concerts to Broadway shows to ballet performances on film, and dinner and a show packages are available for people who want to enjoy a meal at one of the city's excellent restaurants. In addition to the events held on the main stage, the Playhouse also has a small black-box theater where it plays daily foreign and independent films.

Part of the Lake Worth Lagoon, the Snook Islands Natural Area is 118-acre wetlands preserve that includes 2 acres of oyster beds and 11 acres of mangroves.

It was primarily created to bring life back to a depleted area of the lagoon, but it's also become a popular outdoor recreation spot.

Hundreds of different species of marine animals and birds now call the area home, including American oystercatcher shorebirds, and visitors might even spot the occasional manatee. A kayak launch is available for anyone who wants to paddle out to see the oyster beds, and there's also a boardwalk running along the shore.

Palm Beach Skate Zone


Widely regarded as the best place to go skating in Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach Skate Zone is a 75,000 square foot facility with three ice rinks. Skates are available for rent if needed, and public skating sessions are held several times a week, including Friday and Saturday evening sessions with black lights and live DJs. Ice skating lessons are available for people of all ages and skill levels, and the rink is also home to a curling club, a figure skating club, and a hockey club. Other arena amenities include a cafe, a small arcade, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
