With a history that dates back to 1907, Airfield Estates Winery is a family owned and operated endeavor that has thrived over the years. Continuing with traditions that were originally instilled by the founder, and their great-grandfather, H. Lloyd Miller, Airfield Estates continues to produce some of the most renowned wine in the state. You’ll see a lot of history on their vineyards; for example, you’ll still be able to explore the water tower, hangars, and other remnants from when a portion of the family property was leased to the Olympia Air Transport Corporate during World War II. Having opened in 1999 with only 3,000 cases, Kestrel Vintners is now a state-of-the-art facility which produces over 35,000 cases a year. Visitors are invited to stop by their flagship winery and production space which spans over 15,000 square feet; within it, you’ll find a 1,500 square foot tasting room, a gift shop, their offices, a tank, a 13,500 square foot cellar, and a warehouse and barrel area. Kestrel Vintners predominantly produces red wines and is known for their Sangiovese, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot.
