Open Sunday to Saturday, from sunrise to sunset, visitors can wander this smoke-free environment to their heart’s content, and also bring the dogs along, provided they remain leashed. The Big Trees Forest Preserve is a result of John Ripley Forbes’s work in conservation and was established to preserve the urban forestlands areas in the Sandy Springs region of Georgia.

Lost Corner Preserve
The Lost Corner Preserve is a destination in the area of Sandy Springs for both tourists and locals alike who want to get a bit more off of the “beaten track.” The preserve is home to a historic farmhouse built back during the 1800’s and is part of a beautiful forestland spanning across approximately twenty-four acres. With the natural scenery, the old restored farmhouse, stunning gardens, and secluded nature trails, the Lost Corner Preserve has an appeal for both nature lovers and history enthusiasts. The grounds were formerly a full working farm and once inhabited by Native Americans.

Center Ice Arena
The Center Ice Arena in the nature-filled area of Sandy Springs, Georgia provides a place for fun, as well as a small bit of a workout. Heritage Sandy Springs Museum
Founded in the 1980’s, the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum focuses on sharing the story of the interesting city of Sandy Springs, just outside of bustling Atlanta, Georgia. Located within the historic Williams-Payne House, which dates back to the 1860’s, the museum features a permanent exhibit that shows the chronological history of the region, along with the history of the people who have inhabited the land, including life in rural Georgia and the Civil War era. In addition to the permanent exhibit, the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum also includes a number of rotating galleries featuring different period artifacts throughout the year.

The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center is made up of 2 performance theatres which bring the magic of live performance arts to the heart of Sandy Springs. The largest and primary theatre is the Byers Theatre which can seat 1070 people and boasts a full orchestra pit and superb acoustics. The Studio Theatre comprises a more intimate flexible space which can accommodate up to 350 people for seated events.
