Beardsley's Cider Mill & Orchard
The land in which you’ll find Beardsley's Cider Mill & Orchard has been owned and operated by the Beardsley family since 1849. Originally, it was a dairy farm, and everything from hay to turkeys has been raised there. Currently, Beardsley’s has over 400 peach, nectarine, and plum trees and over 10,000 dwarf apple trees. They offer the perfect pick-your-own orchard experience for the entire family to enjoy. Apple varieties which you’ll find there include gala, honey crisp, empire, liberty, red delicious, and the deep, dark red enterprise apple among many others. Be sure to try their array of cider and hard cider while you’re there as well.

Wells Hollow Creamery
Wells Hollow Creamery is more than just an ice cream shop; the local, family-owned establishment is a 5th generation farm that has become an integral part of the community at Shelton. Indian Well State Park
Situated on the banks of Lake Housatonic, Indian Well State Park is a stunning outdoor recreation area which spans over 153 acres. There are several scenic views you can enjoy as you explore the park such as looking over the lake at sunset, but none compare to the beautiful 15-foot horsetail waterfalls which drops into a splash pool at the base. There are so many things to see and do; the entire family will have a wonderful time hiking, bicycling, swimming, picnicking, boating, or fishing for largemouth bass, yellow perch, American eel, and several other species of fish.

Shelton Lakes Recreation Path
The Shelton Lakes Recreation Path, popularly known as Rec Path, is a multi-use trail which can be found in the heart of Shelton. Since its completion in 2012 residents and visitors have flocked there for a leisurely to moderate stroll. The path, which is 8 to 12 feet wide, is handicapped accessible and will take you from Pine Lake through the dam at Silent Waters and to an overlook of the Hope Lake Dam. You’re sure to see some amazing views as you hike or bike your way through the park. Pack a lunch and stop at the picnicking area near Hope Lake for a meal with a view.

Sports Center of Connecticut
The Sports Center of Connecticut is an enjoyable family entertainment center that has over a dozen on-site activities for visitors of all ages. Osbornedale State Park
Located within the Naugatuck Valley Hills, Osbornedale State Park is a gorgeous wilderness area which was once a lush hunting grounds for the Paugussett Indians. After settlers arrived, the land was used for farming, as a trading port, and mined for silver. Today, visitors will be able to see and enjoy so much during their visit to the park. During the summer months you can take part in picnicking and pond fishing while ice skating is available in the winter; hikers will find the trails to be stunning throughout the year. Head over to the Kellogg Environmental Center within the park to learn about the flora and fauna you’ll come across there.

Shelton History Center
History buffs can soak up the local heritage and learn all about the storied past of Shelton at the Shelton History Center. For a humble 2-dollar entrance fee, visitors can enjoy strolling through the center’s one-acre complex, which is home to historic landmarks like the 19th Century Wilson Barn, the Trap Falls Schoolhouse of 1872, and the Marks-Brownson House from 1822. Other attractions of the Shelton History Center include an exhibit called Three Centuries of Shelton, a restored 1920 mode of transportation called a carry-all, a quaint research library, museum shop, and even an herb and heirloom vegetable garden. Groups can book guided tours of the center in advance and are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
