One of the largest National Register Historic Sites in the United States, Historic Blakeley State Park comprises over 2,100 acres of stunning land and water bodies in the Spanish Fort.

You will see so many historic artifacts and sites during your exploration there, with one of the major ones being the site of the last major battle of the Civil War.

Other aspects include Union and Confederate fortifications, colonial-era homesteads, and relics from American Indian habitation well into Archaic periods. Some of the amenities offered at the park include an extensive layout of nature trails, horseback riding, campsites for tents and RVs, and cabins which are available for rent.

Meaher State Park

The 1,327-acre Meaher State Park can be found in the wetlands of Mobile Bay. It attracts locals and visitors as it is the perfect access point to the gorgeous stretch of Mobile Delta. Their boardwalk stretches into the body of water, letting you get a lovely view of your surroundings. Two additional nature trails are available at the park for you to go walking, hiking, bird watching, and see the local flora and fauna. Amenities such as a boat ramp and fishing pier have made it a popular destination for fishing expeditions as well. If you’re planning to stay overnight, Meaher State Park has several campgrounds for tent and RV camping, as well as two bayside cabins which overlook Ducker Bay.

Spanish Fort Town Center Park is a community park that invites everyone for a lovely day outdoors. They have several amenities within the park that are suitable for visitors of all ages such as a walking path, a pavilion area with picnic tables, a sunburst fountain pod, and a splash pad to cool off in on a hot day. Their state-of-the-art playground is extremely popular with younger patrons, while adults love making use of the extensive fitness area.
