Sleepy Hollow

The Tarrytown Lighthouse
The Tarrytown Lighthouse, also known as the Kingsland Point Lighthouse or the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse, at one time was situated about a half-mile off the shore, built to warn boats from the dangerous shoals of the Hudson River’s east side. However, years of landfall have now moved the shoreline closer to about only a few feet from the lighthouse. Today, tourists and locals alike can visit the Tarrytown Lighthouse and take a tour of the structure. Patriot's Park
Formerly known as Brookside Park, Patriot's Park in the quaint village of Tarrytown, New York is easily found along Route 9 near the border of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown. The park grounds encompass approximately four acres and include several monuments and walkways. In 1982, Patriot’s Park was added to the United States National Register of HIstoric Places and it now hosts a popular area farmers market on Saturdays from around the end of May until October. This local park also features a basketball court and a variety of playground equipment. Many community events are also hosted in Patriot’s Park.

Tarrytown Music Hall
The venerable Tarrytown Music Hall was built in 1885, during the Tarrytown “Millionaire’s Colony” era, when rich and famous New York families lived in Tarrytown and attended extravagant balls, shows and concerts at the Music Hall. It has also been used as a movie house and these days it is one of the busiest live performance theatres in the country. The building is worth a visit in its own right and is recognized as being one of the finest examples of Queen Anne architecture in the country. Legend has it that the hall is haunted, and special Ghost Tours are offered every year in October.

Tappan Zee Bridge
Tappan Zee Bridge is officially called the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. It replaced the original Tappan Zee Bridge in 1917 and is a twin cable-stayed bridge which crosses the Hudson River to connect Rockland and Westchester Counties. It is the longest bridge in New York State and can be explored on foot or by bike along a 12-foot wide shared path, which is the longest of its kind in the country. The path features 6 scenic lookout points, various interpretive signs and interesting public art. At night the bridge’s architectural features are lit up and sometimes the entire bridge is illuminated to celebrate special events.
