The Paradise Valley Conservation Area is a 793-acre conservation area located in the headwaters area of the Bear Creek watershed that plays a vital role in supporting and maintaining the health of the surrounding environment. The region became part of the Snohomish County Park system in 2000 and is comprised of wetlands, streams, and lush forests, the park features a 13-mile natural surface multiple-use trail system that can be used for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Washington state is home to some of the most beautiful forests and trails in the country. One such trail is the Sammamish River Trail, a 9.5-mile excursion that stretches between Bothell’s Blythe Park, and the Marymoor Park of Redmond. The trail features several kinds of terrain with paved segments, soft-surface segments, as well as grass and dirt trail segments. Some portions of the trail are also open to equestrians who want to explore the trail on horseback. The trail will also take hikers through a number of landmarks like the Wilmot Gateway Park while also having hikers cross paths with some of Sammamish River’s local inhabitants such as turtles, beavers, weasels, deer, and more.

Opened in 2011, the Brightwater Center is a treatment facility that purifies waste and storm waters for King County. What’s unique about this center, however, is that it was designed not just to treat waters, but also to be a recreational education destination for locals and visitors alike. Featuring 70-acres of green space, there are tons of walking trails and natural habitats to be explored and hiked through. As a family-friendly center, the hikes are great for beginners and children and will also take guests through various wetland habitats and woodland habitats in an average of 1.5 hours. Kestrel Vintners is a 126-acre estate vineyard in Central Washington that crafts wines from the exceptional fruit and unique terroir of the Yakima Valley.
