Gantheaume Point
A short ten-minute drive out of Broome will bring you to Gantheaume Point. This location is a breathtaking vista of red rocks, sparkling Indian Ocean, and white sandy beaches. Closely connected to Cable Beach, this is a fantastic swimming area for visitors. Tourists enjoy checking out the Dinosaur footprint, tough the real footprint, which is 130 million years old, is preserved in the reef and can only be seen at low tide. Visitors may also want to check out the Gantheaume Point cliffs and lighthouse. Though a popular swimming spot, there are no lifeguards on duty.

Horizontal Falls
Located on the Nature preserve in Kimbolton, Horizontal Falls is a popular tourist attraction. Seaplanes often ride the rapids, taking to the air just in time to see this unique natural wonder. There are technically no waterfalls to see, but the name was given when locals noticed how the stream of water tends to look like sideways waterfalls. There can be a small waterfall of up to 15 feet at times, but the most unique part of this natural wonder is the reversing of tides. Depending on when you visit, you may see the water travel in both directions as the tides change.

Roebuck Bay & Staircase to the Moon
The Staircase to the Moon is a natural wonder that happens yearly in Broome. Roebuck Bay is the best place to see the Staircase to the Moon. It happens when the tide is out over the tidal flats in the bay. Happening each month between March and October, these exposed flats give the appearance of stairs that can be climbed right to the moon. Checking the schedule ahead of time is the best option since the best days and exact times to see the Staircase to the Moon are predicted in advance. There will likely be many people visiting during this time, so checking out a guided tour may be advantageous.

Rowley Shoals
Australia is known for its beautiful vistas and gorgeous clear waters. While Broome is on the other side of the country from the Great Barrier Reef, the Rowley Shoals Marine Park provides just as much majestic diving and snorkeling in these crystal-clear lagoons. Rowley Shoals is also an excellent place for fishing in the deeper waters. You must take a cruise to get to the park since it is about 300 kilometers off the coast of Broome.

America loves drive-ins. Though this bygone era is not as common as it once was, there are still some lingering today. In Broome, Australia, Sun Pictures takes outdoor movies to a new level. As the world’s oldest running outdoor cinema, Sun Picture Gardens is a guaranteed good and unique time. Every night, two movies are shown, while guests can sit on blankets in front of the screen or canvas seats beneath a verandah. All movies are new releases, but guests must buy tickets to each movie they wish to see. Unlike drive-ins, admission does not cover both movies.

Willie Creek Pearl Farm
Willie Creek Pearl Farm has been commercial pearling for over 30 years. Visitors to the farm will be amazed at the rich history of pearl farming in Broome. Guests are invited to sign up for one of the many tours offered by Willie Creek, such as the helicopter tour or the complete pearl experience. Pearl lovers may also want to take in a live pearl harvest in the oysters' natural habitat, which can later be put into a setting. Many of the tours include a tea or meal to enjoy during the visit.
