Outside, there’s a fire pit and charcoal grill. Cabin packages include the Coyote, Mustang, Arrowhead, and Bobcat. The kind of beds and futons guests will have in the cabin will depend on the package.
Rough Creek also offers Vacation Rental Homes that are perfect for families or large groups who want to stay in the area for a good amount of time. They have the usual amenities of the guest rooms and suites and more. Choose from the Deer Run, Silver Pheasant, Mallard Lake Ranch House, and the Owner’s Retreat Home. Each one has a totally different theme and environment, but they all feature the same great amenities the lodge is known for.
Restaurant and Bar
Rough Creek Lodge & Resort offers a fine dining experience. The cuisine by Chef Gerard Thompson is known for its rich taste inspired by a mix of American and wild game concepts. It’s considered to be one of the best in Texas by the North American Restaurant Association, who gave them a perfect score of 40 points in one of their reviews.
The dining menus change all the time, but there are always appetizers, main courses, premium gold Angus beef from the wood burning grill, and desserts. More importantly, every one of Chef Thompson’s menus is so remarkable that every dining experience is sure to be memorable.
The Spa & Activities
The Rough Creek Lodge spa offers a wide selection of relaxing and rejuvenating services that are great for therapy or simply pampering for individuals, couples, and groups.
Choose from a wide selection of massages (Swedish, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, and Hot Stone), facials, body treatments (back therapy and back scrubs), and nail care treatments. There are also some spa services specifically for men and young clients. Massages range in duration from 30 minutes to 80 minutes. There are also a few add-on services that can help improve the spa experience such as scalp massages, eye treatments, and aromatherapy.
There are many fun things to do at Rough Creek Lodge & Resort to make your stay more memorable. Guests will be given everything they need for the ultimate hunting experience, including well-trained hunting dogs and Texas guides. Depending on the season, guests will have the opportunity to hunt upland birds, white-tailed deer, hogs, ducks, turkeys, and some exotic wildlife.
The Lodge and Resort is also home to a vast shooting complex where guests can partake in various shooting sports. Sporting Clays, Five Stand, and Wobble Trap are different shooting activities that provide varying types of targets, allowing shooters of all skill and experience levels to have their own sport to enjoy.
A full round of Sporting Clays gives the shooter ten stations, 100 shots, and targets that simulate actual hunting scenarios. Five Stand, on the other hand, uses a wider variety of targets thrown from traps and involves less walking. Wobble Traps provide a more challenging shooting experience because of the varying patterns of the targets.
Those who are not so interested in shooting sports will find plenty of other activities to enjoy. Equally exciting are the zip line and rock climbing, catch and release fishing, and biking and hiking. Children will find the Petting Coral, Kid’s Ranch, kite flying, and paintball to be a unique experience as well. For those who want to relax and spend more time socializing, guests can interact and spend time in groups over s’mores or on a private picnic.
There are also lots of educational opportunities, such as cooking lessons or visiting the Billy the Kid museum, Stephenville, and other art museums. Those looking for entertainment will also delight in the live music with Loco Coyote Live Entertainment.
Finally, Rough Creek is also the place for golfing, and Granbury has seven separate golf courses. There are simply countless ways for guests to enjoy their stay.
Although the lodge offers a relaxing getaway, Rough Creek isn’t really that far from the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex. In fact, it’s fairly easy to get to. It is approximately 10 miles from Glen Rose (west); one hour away from Fort Worth; and one and a half hour-drive from DFW airport.
All the rates of these accommodations are sold as packages.
