The village of Tannersville is located in Pocono Township, Pennsylvania, on the slopes of Camelback Mountain. It is the site of the popular Camelback Ski Area and Camelbeach Waterpark. There are 35 slopes on the mountain and 15 lifts. Camelback Mountain Resort is the largest in the state. Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark is the resort’s summer attraction, with more than 35 water slides and other wet and dry activities. The resort is located in part within the Big Pocono State Park, with seven miles of hiking trails and spectacular views. Tannersville Inn is a historic 1825 hotel that today operates a popular restaurant.

Camelback Mountain Resort is a popular ski and snowboard resort located in the Pocono Mountains near the town of Tannersville, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Camelback Mountain’s highest peak Big Pocono reaches an elevation of 2,133 feet. The resort has 166 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain. There are 35 slopes on the mountain, with the longest, the Nile Mile, one mile long and with a vertical drop of 800 feet. There are 15 lifts and two high speed detachable chairlifts. Camelback is the Poconos Mountain largest ski resort. There are also two terrain parks and the only Half Pipe in the Poconos. The resort also has an indoor and outdoor water park, named Camelbeach. The indoor park is open year-round. Camelbeach includes 37 waterslides, four body slides, a mat slide, five tube slides and four raft rides. There is also a 30,000-square-foot wave pool, lazy river, a children's play area, and a full-sized competition pool.

Big Pocono State Park spreads over 1,305.6 acres of terrain in Monroe County in northeastern Pennsylvania. The park is located on Camelback Mountain and from its summit visitors have spectacular view of the vast area of eastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York and New Jersey . There is a 1.4 miles paved drive around the summit. From the drive, visitors can see the Delaware Water Gap. Big Pocono State Park has a seven-mile long hiking trail system, with trails of different grade and level of difficulty. The rocky North Trail is not recommended to beginners. There is also a horseback riding trail with the trailhead near the park entrance. There are three picnic areas with 50 tables and benches.

When Barley Creek Brewing Company opened in Deceber 1995, it was the first microbrewery opened in the Pocono Mountains since Prohibition. They have brewed more than 100 different styles of beer since then, added a small-batch distillery for producing vodka, whiskey, rum and other spirits, served up billions of French fries, invented the game Firkin Curling, and won a whole bunch of awards. Their beers are brewed in small batches on-site, from the lightest lager to the darkest stout.
