The Landing Resort and Spa is a boutique hotel right on the edge of the pristine shores of Lake Tahoe. All of the guest bedrooms feature stone fireplaces with either twin leather club chairs or a cozy loveseat to nestle up on. They also offer high-speed Internet access, heated bathroom floors, premium L’Occitane bath products and a private balcony or deck across the board. If you’re after a view of Lake Tahoe’s serene waters, make sure not to book the Garden King or 3 Bedroom Suite with Kitchen options, as these instead showcase the verdant forest surroundings.
Dining at The Landing Resort and Spa
The Landing’s signature on-site eatery is Jimmy’s Restaurant. Serving up contemporary Greek and regional California cuisine, it is a hit with both hotel guests and the local residents.
Jimmy’s also doubles as a bar, serving a mixture of soft and alcoholic beverages including beer, spirits and cocktails.
The Spa
The resort spa offers a range of therapies and beauty treatments inspired by Lake Tahoe and the surrounding forest. The spa includes a dry sauna, steam room, relaxation lounge, showers and four separate treatment rooms to complement its variety of services.
Weddings, Reunions & Conferences
The Landing has a range of rooms available to rent out for corporate events or private gatherings such as reunions and weddings. The Grand Rooftop Terrace can hold a wedding ceremony for up to 300 guests or 350 attendees of a cocktail reception. Inside there is the Lakeview Ballroom and Lakeview Board Room, combined they can seat a banquet for 120 people. These rooms are also available to hire for conferences or to be used as theatres or classrooms. The Landing Spa has provisions in place for private use during events and soon to-be-weds can indulge in bridal yoga at the spa.
The Landing has a prime location for keen golfers, as it is adjacent to the Edgewood Golf Course which has been open since 1968. The George Fazio-designed course is a popular spot, but if you grow tired of it there are an additional five golf courses around the Lake Tahoe area. Plan This Vacation
The Landing allows children up to 17 years old to stay for free up to maximum occupancy limit of a room, so a family of two adults and two children could stay in a four-person room with two queen-sized beds.
It is also a dog-friendly hotel, as select pet-friendly rooms allow one dog per night. Groups travelling with multiple dogs will need to book multiple rooms to allow for this and be prepared to cover the additional dog charge of $75 per night for each animal staying.

During the warmer months, popular activities include biking and hiking around the vibrant countryside. Lessons are available for beginners from Lakeside Beach and Marina, which is conveniently next door to The Landing. It’s also possible to fish in the lake, though permissions may be required and those seeking something calmer can take a paddlewheel or catamaran lake cruise around the calm azure waters.
In the winter, Lake Tahoe comes alive as a hot-spot for skiing and snowboarding. The Sierra Mountains contain twelve ski resorts with stunning scenery and runs, providing huge variety for all snow-sports enthusiasts. There are also chances to try out snowmobiling across serene country trails, sleigh-riding in an authentic winter sleigh or sledding down a mountain at hair-raising speeds.
Lake Tahoe is also perfectly located for fans for gambling as many casinos exist nearby, offering thrills and spills. The Landing provides transportation to and from the nearby Heavenly Village, Edgewood Tahoe and South Tahoe casinos.
The resort fee of $25 per day on top of room charges covers on-site parking, access to the fitness and business centers, entry to the beach, steam room, sauna and pool as well as the high-speed Internet (both WiFi and wired) within the hotel.
