Anvil Lake Campground
The Anvil Lake Campground in Eagle River, Wisconsin is a great destination for camping, as well as other outdoor recreation activities, such as hiking, fishing, boating, and swimming, for anyone who wants to get out into nature but still be close to town. The clear waters make for a really good fishing experience in particular, and the family-friendly rustic campground provides a good home base for exploring the trails in the area. Located within the Anvil Lake Recreation Area, the Anvil Lake Campground features eighteen campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, as well as amenities like vault toilets and drinking water.

Blue Mound Campground
Situated in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, the year-round Blue Mound Campground offers a total of twelve hike-in/bike-in campsites and seventy-seven wooded campsites, as well as two and electric sites and an accessible rustic cabin for campers with disabilities. Each site in the campground includes a fire ring and a picnic table, and amenities in the rest of the campground include water fountains and toilets. Blue Mound State Park itself provides amazing views from the highest spot in all of southern Wisconsin, along with some unique geological features. The park is also the only state park in the state with a swimming pool.

Bonanza Camping Resort
Centrally located within the famous Wisconsin Dells, the Bonanza Camping Resort provides a great base for exploring the “Waterpark Capital of the World.” The prime locations puts guests within close proximity to duck tours, restaurants, many waterparks, and much more. Offering a woodland setting, the Bonanza Camping Resort includes six camper cottages, thirty primitive ten campsites, eighty-three water and electric RV sites, and sixty full hook-up RV campsites. Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest
The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest near Clam Lake, Wisconsin encompasses over one million acres of the state’s northwoods. Camping in the forest offers a camping experience for just about everyone, ranging from a developed tent or RV campsite in one of the campgrounds to campers creating their own campsite inside the general forest area. The forest also includes cabin rentals for a more comfortable camping experience. As for other recreation activities, the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest offers approximately eight hundred miles of trails for hiking and biking. During the winter, visitors can go cross-country skiing or offroading along old military roads.

Chippewa Campground
Located in the city of Medford, the Chippewa Campground is situated along the Chequamegon Waters Flowage’s eastern shores, where fishing enthusiasts can find spectacular bass fishing. Its location also provides people of all ages with access to an array of outdoor recreation activities, such as camping, hiking, water sports, fishing, and more. The campground consists of nearly eighty campsites, twenty-eight of which are able to be reserved ahead of time. Amenities at the Chippewa Campground include grills, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, as well as accessible vault and flush toilets, showers, swimming beaches, and a playground.

Cliffside Park Campgrounds
The Cliffside Park Campgrounds are located within the Cliffside Park near Racine, Wisconsin. The campground consists of almost one hundred campsites across more than two hundred and thirty acres. Each campsite at Cliffside Park includes water, electricity, and a fire ring, and amenities at the campground include a play area for children, an on-site dump station, and a comfort station featuring showers, toilets, and sinks. The sites are able to accommodate both tents and large RVs, including ones with slide-outs. Cliffside Park also offers recreation activities, such as access to a bike trail, basketball courts, picnic shelters, ball fields, and soccer fields.

Devil's Lake State Park
Devil's Lake State Park can be found near Baraboo and is arguably the most popular of Wisconsin’s state park with around three million people visiting the park every year. The park encompasses more than nine thousand acres and is a very popular choice for camping among park visitors, so it’s important to plan ahead for a camping trip at Devil’s Lake State Park. There are three different campgrounds available, offering a total of more than four hundred campsites. Only ten campsites, however, are available on a first-come, first-served basis, located at the Quartzite Campground, which is the only campground open during the winter.

The Lake Wisconsin Campground, LLC offers a great campground along the scenic lake shores in Poynette, Wisconsin to both weekend campers and seasonal campers alike. Seasonal campers at Lake Wisconsin come from all over the country to enjoy the state’s cooler summers, including campers from Illinois, Florida, Arizona, and Alabama. Pineland Camping Park
Located in Arkdale, the Pineland Camping Park is a family-friendly campground that offers an exciting and fun getaway for a camping trip. Pinewoods Campground
The Pinewoods Campground in Dousman, Wisconsin features a little more than one hundred campsites, along with shower facilities, vault toilets, and flush toilets. Campers should note that the campground doesn’t offer any sites with electricity. There is also a playground, a designated area for campers to enjoy nature’s quiet and peaceful setting, a dump station, and a garbage/recycling station. For visitors who prefer camping without a lot of noise, Loop 1 of the Pinewoods Campground is a “24-hour quiet zone,” with no mechanical devices, radios, or pets allowed. Pets are permitted, however, in the other two camping loops.

Richard Bong State Recreation Area
Situated around nine miles away from Interstate 94, the Richard Bong State Recreation Area spans across more than 4,500 acres and features two modern family campgrounds, six campsites for large groups, nearly thirty miles of hiking, cross-country skiing, and biking trails, snowmobile parking, horseback riding trails, and three connected ATV trail loops. A variety of activities can be found on the grounds as well, such as swimming, fishing, boating, a nature center, hunting area, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, and more. The campgrounds include an accessible cabin, seasonal showers and flush toilets, and some campsites with electric.

Sandhill Station Campground
The Sandhill Station Campground in Lake Mills, Wisconsin is a small campground with only fifteen tent-only, walk-in campsites situated within a secluded savannah of oak along the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. Toilets and drinking water are provided in the Sandhill Station Campground, with shower facilities located at Glacial Drumlin Headquarters. Campers can often hear the sandhill crane calls in the morning and can find opportunities for fishing at Mud Lake. For camping at the Sandhill Station Campground, a self-registration station is located by the entrance near the parking lot. Firewood isn’t available in the campground, but from local nearby vendors.

Smokey Hollow Campground
Located in Lodi, the Smokey Hollow Campground is nestled among the state of Wisconsin’s beautiful hollows. Two Lakes Campground
Situated between Bass Lake and Lake Owen near Drummond, Wisconsin, the Two Lakes Campground offers numerous spacious campsites that are shaded by mixed hardwoods and pine trees, with the majority of campsites boasting sweeping views of the lakes. The campground provides vault toilets, drinking water, and an RV dump station, and every site also includes its own grill, a fire ring, and a picnic table. Other amenities at Two Lakes Campground include a fishing pier, two boat ramps, and two swimming beach, with possible outdoor activities consisting of an interpretive nature trail, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, power boating, sailing, and fishing.

Whitewater Lake Campground
Located within the Kettle Moraine State Forest, the Whitewater Lake Campground is a primitive camping area consisting of more than sixty beautiful woodland campsites. The campground offers a garbage/recycling station, a sanitary dump station, and vault toilets, however, there are no on-site shower facilities. Shower facilities are available though at the Ottawa Lake and Pinewoods campgrounds about fifteen to twenty miles away, but still within the state forest, for campers who really feel the need for them. The Whitewater Lake Campground is open from Memorial Day in the middle of May through Columbus Day weekend in the middle of October.

The Wyalusing Hardwood Forest is located within the grounds of Wyalusing State Park near Bagley, Wisconsin.
